Hello Life as a Zebra Foundation Family!

The wait is over! After FOUR years, Life as a Zebra Foundation is super excited to tell you that we are back with brand zebra gear. All apparel is ready to purchase for a limited time!

Life as a Zebra Foundation has always been passionate about highlighting the importance of mental health and the fact that there are so many invisible and REAL mental illnesses that fall under the umbrella of invisible illnesses. We feel that mental health diseases are not talked about enough. We want to change that. By communicating that “Mental Health Matters” and it is important to “End the Stigma” that mental health illnesses often carry. In addition, many of us have lost some very important people in our lives due to suicide, and we feel it is crucial to work to bring awareness to this growing epidemic.

Did you know?

  1. More than 50 million Americans struggle with mental illness.
  2. 1 in 5 young people (age 13-18) has or will develop a mental illness in their lifetime.
  3. Most Americans lack access to adequate mental health treatment. 54.7% of American adults with mental illness did not receive care in the last year.
  4. Mental illnesses can affect people of any age, race, religion, or income. A mental illness is a medical condition that disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, and ability to relate to others and daily functioning.
  5. Many factors contribute to the development of a mental health condition, including life experiences (such as trauma or a history of abuse), biological factors, and family history of mental illness.
  6. Depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide.
  7. Members of LGBTQ+ community are almost 3 times more likely to experience a mental health condition such as major depression or generalized anxiety disorder.
  8. Common signs of mental health issues include: extreme mood swings, changes in eating habits, excessive worrying or fear, problems concentrating, and avoiding friends or social activities.
  9. 1/2 of all mental illnesses show early signs before a person turns 14 years old, and 3/4 of mental illnesses begin before age 24.
  10. More than 1 in 4 adults living with serious mental illnesses also struggles with substance abuse.
  11. More than 700,000 people die by suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds.

Fundraiser Details:

This year, we have three different designs. Two, that bring mental health to the forefront, and one traditional Life as a Zebra Foundation logo design. For each design, you can choose to order it on a tee, tank, or sweatshirt.

We also have the infamous ZEBRA SWEATPANTS back by popular demand. Please note that the sweats of the past have been discontinued, so the ones on the site are the new version. We have been told they have the same comfort level as the previous ones!

Please Note: This fundraiser will end on March 17th at midnight. NO ORDERS will be shipped until the fundraiser is complete and all orders are in (after March 17th). Please keep this in mind if you are buying for special occasions, etc.

A HUGE shoutout to Live Love Michigan for not hesitating to take over all orders for us, printing for us, hosting the fundraiser, and for shipping all of the orders so we do not have to run back and forth to the post office in order to keep our zebra bodies healthy.
